How do I manipulate the value in the datablock

I have tried a VAT but how do I manipulate from that?

Will manipulating from VAT work as long as the logic in FC51 NW4 is writing 0 into DB11.DBD62 or do I need to disconnect that first?

I have a value (it originates from an encoder) that I compare to different values and when it gots close to one of the values it generate a short horn signal.

I need to test some of the functionality with PLCSIM but how do I manipulate the value (in this case DB11.DBD62) to have values I want?

 Of course you need to disable the writing elsewhere, before you can change the value in a VAT table.

That is what I suspected - I was just hoping I did not have to "tamper" with the block I need to download to make a simulation.

Will I be ably to use the VAT if I "disable the writing elsewhere" and how do I do this?

Is there an easier / smarter way of "disabling the writing elsewhere" than disconnecting the DB11.DBD62 in NW4?

What can I put (temporarily) instead of DB11.DBD62 where it is written to (since it will not accept an empty output pin)?

There is not a move in this case to not possible with the "always off". 

I made a dummy temp var - and used that - and I think it works - but I would have preferred not to have to modify in the block.

An Always OFF tag in front of the move? Or a Dummy local temp variable with the same data type, to replace the variable you need to modify via VAT.

 You have to have some kind of "move", if you are writing to that variable there... What instruction do you have performing the write to the tag? Place an Always OFF in front of it.

 In front of the DIV_R, because it's the instruction writing to the variable.
