How many CP343-2 can i add in a single rack?

Hello, SIMATIC NET, CP 343-2 COMMUNICATION PROCESSOR FOR CONNECTING SIMATIC S7-300 AND ET200M TO AS-INTERFACE ACCOR. AS-INTERFACE SPEC. Maximum number of CP modules per rack depends only on the rack it self (i.e. the IM used) For example, if you are using IM153-2 (which accomodate only 8-modules) then max. number will be only 8 CPs. If you are using IM153-2 (6ES7-153-2BA02...), then you will be able to insert up to 12 CP into one rack. Normally, if you open HW configand insert the needed number of CPs and then compile, If there's no error, then there will be no problem. Regards,

By looking at this FAQ you will find that max. number of AS-i masters in central rack depends on current capacity of backplane bus. Siemens recommends 3 to 4 AS-i masters in central rack. The point is that you are limited to max. of 1.2A in backplane bus for all CPUs (except 312-IFM) and the CP343-2 consumes a max. of 200 mA at 5VDC (Backplane bus) which means that theoretically you are limited to 6 per rack but it's recommended to limit yourself to 3or 4 AS-i masters per rack. For more info. check chapter 5.4 in S7-300 Automation System, Hardware and Installation: CPU 312IFM - 318-2 DP Ayman Elotaify Normally, if you open HW configand insert the needed number of CPs and then compile, If there's no error, then there will be no problem.
