How to build github Example Image

I have a problem with the last step of the tutorial.

Same problem here,

ERROR: Task (/repo/recipes-app/npm/npm-buildchroot_6.10.3+ds.bb:do_install_builddeps) failed with exit code '1'

I have seen the works in progress on github Issues #90 so I'm confident...

I tried to build the image, but it fails very early with this error:

 So I tried with "sudo", but it fails with

Error: Running as root - may break certain recipes.
Better give a regular user docker access. Set KAS_ALLOW_ROOT=yes to override.

I tried "export KAS_ALLOW_ROOT=yes" but i doesnt work :(

"echo $KAS_ALLOW_ROOT" says "yes"

 unknown user

$ echo $KAS_ALLOW_ROOT
yes

Hostsystem: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS

Any hint for me?

SOLUTION:

Hi again, looks like i found my failure.
Not sure, but i think i used sudo in point 7 and/or 9 of the instructions...
So these directories had the wrong permissions i think.
I did again now in a "fresh" directory (without sudo) and it works for now (not ready yet)

A bit of ***y good to know (maybe this can be added to original post)

If you wanna build a branched image e.g. ubuntu image from the jan/ubuntu fork, you can merge it the branch for building into master with this:

cd meta-iot2050

git fetch

git reset --hard jan/ubuntu

 There are other ways to do it aswell, but this way got around the global login thingy 

At step 11 I had the following problem:

Error: Running as root - may break certain recipes.

OBS: I haven't logged in as user. Sorry for the maybe obvious question, but how can I login as user?
