How to clear SF DP on CPU 315-2-DP

Now my plc is can program but i feel unhappy to see SF DP red light on PLC. so please suggest me. and guide me. With Thanks

Each points to different problem... In any case, these alarm LEDs are active whenever a problem arises thatthe CPU cannot deal with. Basically the only way to shut down these LEDs is to fix the problem that caused their activation. SF means you have a system fault, internnal to the CPU. BF means one or more of your Profibus nodes is not responding, for various reasons. It would be helpful if you described your present configuration for your present Profibus-DP network, if any. The best way to find the source of the problem is to use the diagnostic buffer, either using CTRL+D in Simatic Manager, or using the ONLINE view of HWConfig, and double-clicking on any node (even the CPU) that shows a Fail icon (a red slash). If you have any problem decyphering the contents of the diagnostic buffer, use the Save As... button and attach the resulting text file (or the most significant parts) here on the forum, so we may aid you understand it. hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

Currently i am using stand alone ( no network interface ), Dear. i follow your instruction and attached file. Please kindly take a look and guide me. thanks! oem Posts: 14 Rating: (3)	Good day, try to find if the configured PLC type is the same with the hardware one, PLC>Diagnostic/settings>Module information. If they are different replace it in Hardware Configuration (compile, save and transfer to PLC) When you choose to transfer the application blocksand *System Data*, the PLC will now look and compare what you have been configured for your system and what really exists. (PLC type number, communication, I/O modules, etc) Else, you can first save your application, then Clear/reset the CPU and start again the CPU (empty). You should now have only 5V and RUN LED's on.

Hello phyoemaung your 315 is quite an old model and I presume thatit does indeed have a dedicated "SF-DP" LED over and on top of the "SF" and "BUSF" LED's and that only this "SF-DP" LED is lit, correct? If so (and I'm going ourt on a limb here), I believe the lit "SF-DP" LEDis simply a result of the non-configured Profibus DP interface. As such - and while annoying - it will not give you any problems (you do NOT use the DP port). To get rid of thelit "SF-DP" LEDthough, please try the following: 1.) Open up HWconfig and double click on the DP port of your CPUwhich will bring up its properties window. 2.) Click on the "Properties" button in the center of the popup window (in the "Interface" frame) to open up the properties of the Profibus Interface. 3.) Click on the "New" button to create a new Profibus network which is now assigned to the CPU's DP port. 4.) "OK" all the popups (you should now see a Profibus Master system line in HWconfig coming from the CPU's DP port). 5.) Compile & Save HWconfig 6.) Download HWconfig tothe CPU Even though you will NOT have any DP Slaves on the Profibus Netwrok, the DP port is now configured and your "SF-DP" LEDis (hopefully) off. I hope this helps and please let us know how it went.

Josehermis Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	If you have BF for sure you will get SF because the CPU can not see the addresses configured in the profibus system. Try to fix the profibus system and if SF still exist, Check your program for an address used but not created mostly DB.
