How to install node-red nodes?

With the latest example image V2.1.2 node-red is preinstalled with nodes to use the GPIO pins and the dashboard of node-red. 

If you want to install additional nodes make sure your IOT2000 has connection to the internet. 

Then go to the directory: 

cd /usr/lib/node_modules

 In this directory type in  

npm install <node-red-node> (instead of <node-red-node> use your required node)

Available node-red nodes are listed on this page: https://flows.nodered.org/

do you have internet connection with your IOT? 

I had errors like this trying to install a package without internet connection.

You can try to ping google for example. 

ping www.google.com

 If the ping "works" you should have the following output:  

Yes, there are all available node listed. 

That's correct. And make sure that you are not in an enterprise network or something because some are blocking the download..

are you using an IOT2040? Then you can use the Ethernet interface X2 for connecting the IOT to your internet router. 

With an IOT2020 you will need a WiFi USB dongle to establish a internet connection..
