HOW-TO: Install STEP 7 5.5 SP3 (DVD) on Windows 8 Professional (Build 9200)

Download and install the latest 64-bit version of automation licence manager. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/114358 2. Copy DVD content to any directory on hdd. 3. Modify ./Setup.exe using any resouce modification software. Eg ResourceHack. Add the line <supportedOS Id="{4a2f28e3-53b9-4441-ba9c-d69d4a4a6e38}"></supportedOS> //this is the os ID of Windows 8 64bit 4. Modify ./InstData/Setup.ini under section OS. PlattformIDAllowed = 1;2;3 Add the lines Win8x64=1 Win8x64Exclude=SKU2;SKU3;SKU5;SKU8;SKU9;SKU10;SKU11;SKU12;SKU13;SKU14;SKU15;SKU16;SKU17;SKU18;SKU19;SKU20;SKU21;SKU22;SKU23;SKU24;SKU25;SKU47;SKU66;SKU67;SKU68 Win8x64Warning=SKU2;SKU3;SKU5;SKU8;SKU9;SKU10;SKU12;SKU13;SKU14;SKU15;SKU16;SKU17;SKU18;SKU19;SKU20;SKU21;SKU22;SKU23;SKU24;SKU25;SKU67;SKU68 5. Modify all msi-files to enable the ingore-button on installation failures (like installing on unsupported OS's). Use any software possible to manipulate MSI-files. E.g. InstEd. Search for DLG_INSTALLATIONREQUIREMENTS_DISABLE_IGNORE. Change Action from Disbale to Enable. Run ./Setup to start installation. Press the ingore-button when told it's not possible to install on running OS. Good luck! Disclaimer. I can not be held responsible to any result caused by following this guide. Rivas Experienced Member Joined: 6/20/2011 Last visit: 11/7/2024 Posts: 77 Rating: (7)	Hello i have installed it with succces on Win 8.1 [OK] Simatic manager 5.5 SP3 [OK] Wincc 2008 SP3 i have modified the wincc flexible filles same as Simatic manager files Some issues I have encountered : [NOK] Inserting blocks or station [NOK] F1 help, not available [NOK] Check block consistency, error while compiling blocks if block code is changed in the mean time [OK] Small program adjustments [OK] SCL editor [OK] PLCsim [OK] Wincc flexible RT with PLCsim Hardware editor i have not tested it yet
