Industrial Automation is a dynamic sector, those evolutes constantly. Daily news equipments come to the market. Siemens also enlarges constantly the Simatic family with news products with better performance and new features. In dependence of the type of the news equipments, there are different ways to incorporate it to STEP 7. FollowIshow the most common cases and the respective solution. Case 1: Standard Profibus slaves and Profinet IO devices Standard Profibus slaves and Profinet IO devices can be included into STEP 7 trought import of GSD / GSDML archives. GSD and GSDML are archives delivered by the equipment fabricant that descript the device.
