I use TIA Portal V15, The machine use S7-1516-3PN CPU Firmware 2.6 but in my project file the CPU

S7-1516-3PN Firmware V2.5 I download Firmware V2.6 from SIEMENS site.

How can I upgrade the CPU Firmware from V2.5 to V2.6 in my project file with "6ES7 516-3AN01-0AB0 V02.06.00.upd" file in offline ?

Hi,

like already mentoined, the firmware update file is for the cpu itself.

In this case, following FAQ is helpful.

How do you load the project data if the version of the firmware installed in the S7-1500 CPU cannot be selected in the hardware catalog of your version of STEP 7 (TIA Portal)?

Is also no problem to use V2.5 in the project and V2.6 online on the PLC, the download is possible and no problem

 If the PLC is needed to be stopped for a modification, the download window will inform you that the PLC needs to be stopped for the download.

 If the download window informs you: The data blocks will be re-initialized with their start values, only then will DB's be affected.
