IbaPDA_V.6.35.3 and PCS 7 V9.0 - How to add any signal?

Dear All

I am having a problem with IbaPDA_V.6.35.3 and PCS 7 V9.0.

I managed to connect to PLC via iba S7-Xplorer but I have no idea whatsoever how to add any signal. Addressbook creator doesn't work at all, drag&drop as well. Could you give me some advice of how should I deal with this problem?

I am sorry, I didn't want to sound as an ignorant. I should definitely provide more details about my problem. I also downloaded manual, maybe I will find some info there.

So, I am working on project where we have few PLCs combined in multiproject. One real (just for now) PLC with two CPU's is working in multi-computing mode. I am guessing, I have a problem with creating addressbook in this case because of those two CPU's. However when I am not using Addressbook but placing markers manualy connection is working - I tried with MD10 marker and it was working (I was able to observe signal behavior). Do you think, my guess about creating addressbook might be right?

Second thing is architecture of the rest of our project (picture in attached). We don't have other PLCs jet but we would like to be able to test some of program features, create HMI in WinCC. That's why, my colleagues created WinLC RTX driver on PC, which has the same IP address as a future PLC. All program is created in "real PLC" but sended to WinLC RTX PCU thanks to the same IP address. In that case I am able to create addressbook but I do not see any DB's CFC's etc. (see picture in attached). Could you give me some advice of how to configure ibaPDA? Is it possible at all with our project?

An update: I just managed to create addressbook for real PLC, I have no idea what has happpend because I made no modification on the PCS7 and ibaPDA side. Now, I see DBs but CSCs are still not available.

a few pointers from my side:

1.) Based on your screendump you already have the latest ibaPDA version (V6.38.8 at time of posting) which is good as it now also also supports address book generation for S7-410 CPU's 

2.) Multi Computing (more than 1 CPU in an S7-400 rack) should also work just fine with ibaPDA including S7 address book generation (certainly does for me)

3.) Please make sure to grab the latest ibaPDA-Interface-S7-Xplorer manual (V1.5 at time of posting)

4.) As for CFC: Silly question, did you do a complete compile of the charts and ticked "Generate SCL source"? (if not, please do so as it is needed for the ibaPDA address book, see chapter 3.4.5.3 of the ibaPDA-Interface-S7-Xplorer manual for more)

5.) Make sure to do a quick update of the the address book in ibaPDA whenever you make changes to your S7 project (its a simple single mouse click from the ibaPDA S7 symbol browser but required as the S7 address book in ibaPDA is not a "live link" to the S7 project)

Hope this helps but by any means do also not hesitate to send a support enquiry to the iba Office in charge for your region in case of further problems.

Many thanks for your answer, it was really helpfull.

Now ibaPDA is working perfectly fine even with multi computing mode. I have no idea why I had any problems with creating addressbook before.

I didn't compile CFCs with marked "Generate SCL source" and that's why I haven't seen CFCs in ibaPDA. So, apparently, there are no "silly questions". I will download new version of manual, in the one I have there is no such a chapter at all.
