nadakotb Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	i have an old PLC : S5 155U (CPU 948) i need to connect it to ABB PLC using Profibus-DP, ABB will act as Master and S5 as slave. I need to know how to do the following : 1- Install IM308C in the same rack with CPU 948 2- Configuring IM308C to act as slave for another PLC (ABB in this case, it doesn't matter anyway) 3- Accessing Memory area of CPU948 from ABB PLC can anybody thankfully help me in this? waiting ur reply

Hello,

1.Look at Use of IM 308C in Programmable Controller S5-155

	The permitted slots are the following:
	for central rack 135U/155U, from 139 to 163.

2. DP interfacing IM 308-C (slave) and CP 315-2 (master) with STEP 7 V5.2 and COM PROFIBUS V5.1

There you can find description how to set IM308C like slave.
3. Accessinng memory, you'll need GSD file for IM308C like slave. Download form there - PROFIBUS GSD files : SIMATIC

. If you need more info about ABB side, I suggest you to contact with their support...
