Improve TLGInsertArchivData speed

elaba Posts: 14 Rating: (1)	I'm using the TLGInsertArchivData function to reimport data from a textfile to my WinCC project. I tested the function with a loop and I've noticed that the function works really slow. I created an entry every 5 seconds and it took around 2.5 minutes to finish. Does anyone know how I could enhance the performance of the function? Script is attached. Attachment script.txt (87 Downloads)

In WinCC V6.0 SP1 or higher, the TLG_API_FLG_FAST_INSERT flag can be specified here. If this flag is set, the data are written in optimized mode and much faster. However, in order to make full use of this optimized performance it is required that the timestamps of the written data records are sorted in chronological order. It is also necessary that the newly inserted data records are newer than the data records already contained in the archive. If older data records are inserted between existing data records, it is not permitted to use "TLG_API_FLG_FAST_INSERT". If you insert values which are older than existing ones or not sorted in chronological order, the older values are discarded without error indication. As of WinCC V6.0 SP1, the flag "TLG_API_FLG_REPLACE_INSERT" can also be specified in order to overwrite the data in the archive. The flag "TLG_API_FLG_REPLACE_INSERT" cannot be used together with the flag "TLG_API_FLG_FAST_INSERT". Archive flags: TLG_API_FLG_FAST_INSERT (Value: 0x00000001) WinCC V6.0 SP1 or higher: Fast insertion of data in SQL Server with TLGInsertArchivData TLG_API_FLG_REPLACE_INSERT (Value: 0x00000002) WinCC V6.0 SP1 or higher: Overwrite data in SQL Server with TLGInsertArchivData. It cannot be used toghether with TLG_API_FLG_FAST_INSERT Regards Georg Berghof
