indirect addressing

To make the diagnosis,i need to see the status of the entire range of inputs of the plc. I want to do this type in a word from the operator panel, the number of byte whichi want to show its status. example: if I write 10, i want to see thebits ranging from 10.0 to 10.7 if I write 100, i want to see thebits ranging from 100.0 to 100.7 naturally on the operator panel will field the word for the number of byte of input and result fields of eight bits. if I use the comparison, i mustwrite so many comparisons as the number of bytes of address, making the program long and hard. can be done with indirect addressing ... someone give me a hand? sfa Posts: 70 Rating: (3)	Hi Roby The solution is quite simple when you know how to do it :-) See attached example I use SLD 3 to point at a byte (4 will point at a word and 5 at dwords) finally you must store the result in a byte : T MBxx /søren Attachment FC1.jpg (128 Downloads)
sfa Posts: 70 Rating: (3)	Last edited by: sfa at: 12/1/2010 11:49 AM Forgot to tell you that it is important that you check for valid inputs before executing the code. Using e.g. -1 will cause a diagnostic error in the CPU and it will stop if you do not have OB121 in place.

Because the three least significant bits indicates the bit position. (0 - 7) See also online help of Step 7, search for Pointer and look for format. Hope this will help. Best regards, Wizard

How do you parameterize blocks, which have "ANY"-type or "Pointer" type parameters?
