Interfacing SIMEAS PROFIBUS meters with redundant S7 400H

deeptalk Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi, I need to interface the SIMEAS P meters on PROFIBUS with redundant S7 400 H controller. We had planned to interface the meters in the same loop as of the IM modules. But SIMEAS meters have only one 9-pin port. How do I connect the SIMEAS meters to the redundant loop? Regards, Deepak Ramachandran

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (262)	You need something, that would make redundant profibus into simple profibus. For example Y-link can be used, but take care - Y-link passes only 244 bytes for input and 244 bytes for output.... Y-link is made by Siemens, but there are other options too.

If I am in your place I would use another type of power meters like SENTRON PAC3200. 7KM2111-1BA00-3AA0 SENTRON PAC3200; LCD; 96X96MM POWER MONITORING DEVICE PANEL MOUNT TYPE FOR MEASUREMENT OF ELECTR. VALUES VAUX: 22-65VDC VIN: MAX. 500/289V; 45-65HZ AMPIN: X/1A OR X/5A AC COMPRESSION TYPE TERMINALS 298.00EUR That type have a built in ethernet port and I think if you have a redundant system, and two CP for ethernet, you can connect with it using an ethrnet switch.
