Is it possible do active homing with Basic positioner EPOS inside a s120 drive?

Hi expert,

It is possible do active homing (reference approach) with

Basic positioner EPOS  inside a s120 drive?

The manual says that it can only be done with an incremental encoder..

Many thanks, I Readed the manual, but when switch off the drive I must to do again reference procedure? If I have a absolute encoder I think that is not necessary.. It is right?

you were the one asking for active homing procedure ;-)

It is like that: 

Active homing and Flying homing is normally used for incremental encoders. Each time after Powering On the CU you have to do a referencing. .For both modes the drive will not save the position retentively in ROM!

If you have an absolute encoder you should use its advantages and do the absolute encoder adjustment - this is only needed once during the commissioning. Just move your drive to the wanted reference position (e.g. manually or by jogging function) and then perform the adjustment. The drive will store the absolute position data in the ROM and you will never lose the homing. The encoder adjustment you can find in the homing mask - just set the position and click the button. Or you can also do it in the expert list (p2599 = reference coordinate p2507 = 2; then Ram to Rom, done)

So when you use EPOS both options are possible - active homing and also absolute encoder adjustment.

You can do the active homing via SINA_POS FB (parameters in the drive have to be set via expert list).

For absolute encoder adjustment there is an additional function block available. See the encoder adjustment block from this library:

So from your PLC program you can first start the active homing and afterwards you execute the absolute encoder adjustment at the same position.
