Is it possible to do automatic conversion of FB (Written in FBD) to SCL?

Member Joined: 6/20/2017 Last visit: 12/21/2024 Posts: 447 Rating: (40)	No. the SCL language is an literal structured language that is impossible to be translated from a graphical language by some kind of translator. In fact, wath do you write, almost in every lenguages, is not what the CPU get. The writed program will be translated, optimized, ecc, from the compiler in a different language, named assembler, (for the PLC is named IL, the AWL instructions set in case of Siemens). This resulting language that in the CPU is only a long list of numbers, is no more convertible from any automatic ways. Only with much uman work if you want, you can rewrite the source code in different langage. In fact, as usual, only the ladder (LAD) and the functions graphical languages (FBD) are convertible due of the fact that the compiler will translate these languages, adding in the resulting AWL code more instructions than the need for the CPU, named graphical instructions. For example: if I tell you: the number 5289, will you be able to tell from wich one expression I get this result?
