Hi. Is there a simple way to synchronize time from S7-1200/1500 PLC (master) to Basic panel (slave)? According this page: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/69864408 and this document there https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/attachments/69864408/69864408_WinCC_TimeSyn_DOC_v40_en.pdf it should be very easy (the Variant 1). Just to set sync option to slave - and that should be it. See the attached picture SyncSlave.png. What really happens. I live in GMT+1 area and now it is the time of daylight saving time (DST), so now we have the GMT+2 in our time zone. The PLC (S7-1511C) has the correct time zone set and DST enabled. The PLC is all right, it has the GMT as system time and GMT+2 (now in summer) as local time. The time synced to the basic panel (KTP Basic 400 PN) is the system GMT. So the panel shows the operator time that is 2 hours behind the correct local time. Well, I can go to the panel settings and edit the time shift (there is no time zone, just a time shift) and set It to +2. The problem is, I don't believe, this time shift could be changed by a program. The basic panel does not support scripts anyway. Well, the Variant 2 from the linked document (Date/Time PLC row of Global Area pointer of HMI device) works. It seems, that it ignores the time shift setting. So the system time of the basic panel is probably wrong, but I don't care - I need the local time to be seen by operators.
Is there some right way for the Variant 1? TIA V15.1 used. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

It seems that Variant 1 (V1) is not working for Basic panels. My problem is exactly the same (except I use S7-1200). The manual is confusing: on page 5 there is diagram for only V1 for SIMATIC S7-1200 / S7-1500, but on page 6 is table in which are all variants allowed, including Basic Panels (as timer slaves) for V1. (It happens that manual is not 100% true. I had a very specific issue about one hardware component, which wasn't working according to the manual, so I had to write a Support Request to clarify that. Finally, they confirmed that manual in that point was wrong.) Attachment69864408_WinCC_TimeSyn_DOC_v40_en.pdf (599 Downloads) |
