Licenses needed for Unified comfort display

Hello,

What license can be used for programming a Unified comfort display? According to the delivery release you should be able to get the Unified comfort license for free if you already own a Wincc comfort v17 license. How can I get it in that case. And what if I buy a Unified license, can that be used to program Comfort panels. What is the hierarchy of these Wincc V17 licenses?

Hi,

you don't need to get a new licence then, they are compatible already.

The Hierachie is something like this:

Existing WinCC License:

WinCC Basic => None for Unified
WinCC Comfort => WinCC Unified Comfort
WinCC Advanced => Unified PC (10k)
WinCC Prof 512/4096 => Unified PC (10k)
WinCC Prof. max. => Unified PC (100k)

all bigger Licences contain the lower one. With WinCC Prof Max. You have Unified 100k and Unified Comfort.

Same works kind of the other way around:

WinCC Unified Comfort => WinCC Basic + Comfort
WinCC Unified PC 10k => WinCC Advanced
WinCC Unified PC 100k => WinCC Prof. (max)
WinCC Unified PC max. => WinCC Prof. (max)

I think there are ways in V17 to get to a Unified Licence from an existing License. But this only makes sense if the PowerTags are not enough already.

Else you can just go ahead with your Comfort License!

I have currently a Wincc Advanced trial license installed on my computer. I do not seem to be able to add Unified panels with it. Are there any limitations to trial licences other than the free 21 days they give you?

Yes I have installed the WinCC Unified software. The panels are available for selection but it complains about license even though I have a trial licence for WinCC Advanced which according to ZickZackTIA should work for Unified panels.

Hi, this license should work, if it is still viable. After the 21 days of the Trial you can't use it of course.
