Line suddenly stopped

Dear All,

In our factory we have a production line which has a PROFIBUS network.

Anyone trying to connect online to the main CPU, all line stop causing big scrap for material.

I attached a picture of the diagnostic buffer of the main CPU at the time when line stopped.

As you observe, there is a distributed I/O station failure, with address 17.

My question is: What make this distributed I/O to stop only when I go online to the main CPU ?

to which port of CPU are all tried connect? Give all other infos about other connections, also what you have set on PG/PC interface. You can zip screenshots not pictures from mobile.

It is not allowed to connect to Profibus connector with the Siemens MPI - cable.

Use MPI connector instead.

Actually, you're correct.

I connect the MPI cable by mistake to the DP port.

But, could you please tell me why all line stopped when I connect thee MPI cable to DP port ?

Address#17 related to ABB drive, I don't know what is the relation.

what exactly type of adapter/cable you're use? Also again, pls give us info what you've set in PG/PC interface, parameters of interface.
