message "error occured during download to target system"

BillyBob Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	Hi , I have a ES and aseparate OS/CLIENT. i am upgrading and adding another client machine. When i downoad to the client it gives me a message "error occured during download to target system" the project is on the client machine but when i try to open it it says access to the project is currently not allowed. what could be causing this? Splitted from Client error.

Nil96 Posts: 325 Rating: (14)	Hi Jeph, Change the Client OS name in the Engg Station and make surethat OS name should be same as that of Engg station name. During download the Client OS name will get automaticallty changed to that of the Client's machine name. I hope u have given enough permissions on the Client's Folder where u want to store the client project. Also just make sure that u have logged in to Clients machine as an Administrator. Check that you're able to access the shared folder on your client station from the engineering station and verify that you have Write Access on it (by copying any small file inside the folder) 2. check the assignment of the interface of the Terminal Bus inside SIMATIC Shell at both ends -Client and Engineering stations (you can find the SIMATIC Shell in My Computer, and you can change the assignment by right-clicking the folder SIMATIC Shell and select the interface card from the dialouge) 3. if you're using another card in your engineering station as a PG/PC interface, just disable it for some time and do the download while it's disabled. Bilal Moolla Posts: 133 Rating: (9)	Hi Jeph I have a feeling that when you re-installed your network adaptor. It resolved the conflict in the Configuration console. I have created a document on how to resolve this problem in some detail. I know that your problem is solved but maybe if you are interested you can download it on the following link.
