I`m a beginnerin this world of automation so my knowledge is very limited, but increasing.......

I purchased a S7 1200 for testing my programs,soI have been programming for several weeks, and now, I would like to try with WinCC RT. I want to learn programming and SCADA simultaneously. I`m using Tia Portal V12 and WinCC Advanced.

I programmed a simple example, using as SCADA the same PC in where I am programming. But I have a problem: when I start the Runtime, it does not show the changes in the fields connected to the PLC tags.

I attached a pdf file that contains all the screens in the programming process from the beginning.

I do not know what is happenning. I do not have any complete similarexample for comparing.

I checked the steps.Did you define a PLC in connection?Where did you define the external tags?Check the attachment.

Sorry. Do not know how to define external tags neither PLC in connection. I defined two tags in the PLC and the connections shown in the screens. Maybe you could teach me how to do it. Note that my entire project is shown in the screens of my first post, I mean: all the steps I made are shown there, so If more connexions or settings are necessary, it is simple to know checking the pdf document. ¿Do you need additional files for checking my proyect?

I attached a jpg file, of your answer`s same screen taken from my project.

then it work and show u some value in decimal or hexadecimal based on the configuration

Maybe It was product of my ignorance. I thought I could do that way.

I want the runtime to read the status of the bits I0.0 and Q0.5, in the program block Main OB1 that are bool tags. For that task I added two rectangles and set the Appearance like shown in the last pages of the attached document. I`m not using IO Fields anymore but It does not work anyway. What am I doing bad?
