Hi, the tia portal is a sw for create a project to download inside to PLC . In tia portal we can program both the software for the plc (in various languages --- SCL, AWL, LAD ...) we have as the old step7 the HW configuration for the various devices connected to the PLC. In addition we can also program an HMI interface. The positive side of the tia portal is that we have a high-level language and we can refer to our "objects" with nomenclature, and tia them even in complex structures. TIA Portal is software you can use for PLC, HMI and SCADA. |

hi together, TIA-Portal is the framework for the engineering SW packages. Here are the major contents of TIA: WinCC is for HMI. There are different versions, like Basic, Comfort, Advanced. WinCCprofessional is for Scada-Systems. Step7 is for programming, there are also different versions and packages. Basic is only for S7-1200 controller. Professional is for S7-1500 and also the "older" S7-300/400 controller. Safety Basic/Advanced is for programming FailSafe controller Startdirve is for drives.
