How do you know that: Siemens could very easily make the MQTT server configurable?

They could but according to the 8.3 documentation it is not configurable. So maybe in a firmware update it could (should!) happen. It seems that the communication is via mutually authenticated TLS (mTLS) with AWS issuing device (client) certificates based on CSRs from Logo/SoftComfort. So it is not just an IP address / DNS name to talk to, there is PKI infrastructure "hard coded" into the 8.3 release.

Btw, this morning I got confirmation from Siemens (via a wholesale partner) that 8.3 will be released for delivery during this month. So next week we'll know.
