On a service call to upload a program from HMI MP 277, 8" Touch; I found that the control panel is password protected and my client does not have it as they imported from foreign OEM.

My question is, can we get the backup of HMI program without knowing the Password? Is there any way only to take the backup file by prosave or by any other software. Because, I need to just get the program backup and download it to a new HMI.

If you don`t knew the password, the only thing to remove this password is to reset the panel (OS-update).

It's not important to know the settings in the control panel, because you can connect the panel via LAN and MAC address of the panel

I understanding what you are saying. But, we are in a job, you know. If we have any docs or link that saying it clearly could be easy to us to show to office. Even, sometime the customer did not ask the OEM for password when buying the system; but when any issue rise asking us to  work with the system without password and when we failed they think that this is our failure. Unfortunate.
