PCS7 V7 - Problem when change/update block icons

env Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Dear all, I am working on a PCS7 V7 - CEMAT V7 project and got this (big) problem: After compile the AS-OS and arrangement block icons in WinCC pictures following the P&ID, we decide to change the icon of some Cemat blocks (eg. replace the big Motor icon with small motor icon). As the way of PCS7 V6, we try to change the block icon number in CFC then AS, OS compile again. Finally, when we open OS (WinCC), all the block icons are moved to the picture conner (top-left). That's means we have to arrange all the icons again. Kindly advise your ideas in this case? tks all.

However, if you have many pictures that were "destroyed" you should consider using the Import/Export wizards in Graphics Designer for fixing your screens. The other option is to arrange the new icons manually Regards

Here are some questions I would ask in determining why: Is this a new PCS7 v7 project, or is it an update from a v6? Did you migrate it properly in WinCC ? Are all the Generate Block Icon check boxes in alignment with the process?

Here are some questions I would ask in determining why: Is this a new PCS7 v7 project, or is it an update from a v6? --> this is new PCS7 V7 prj & cemat 7 Did you migrate it properly in WinCC ? --> WinCC is configurated following cemat requirement. This occured also with a pcs7 standart project (w/o Cemat Block). Are all the Generate Block Icon check boxes in alignment with the process? --> before update icons, all block icons are alignment with the process.

See the following FAQ: *How do you use the template pictures "@PCS7Typicals.pdl" to create block icons?** Regards

env Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	It's means there's some changes from PCS7 V6.1 to PCS7 V7. As remember, when I did project with PCS7 V6.1 3 years ago, all icons remain at old position after update icon index. BTW, automatically including "create/update block icon" function when OS compiling isn't a good way. Tks u, Phantom.

Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (279)	env It's means there's some changes from PCS7 V6.1 to PCS7 V7. As remember, when I did project with PCS7 V6.1 3 years ago, all icons remain at old position after update icon index. I tried this on a V6.1 SP1 system and the behavior is identical to V7.0.1.

According to http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&lang=en&objid=26697820&caller=view updated bloc icons should be inserted in original position. But it no so. Updating a block icon If the block icon is already in the plant picture in the version configured, then the block icon is updated. In this case, the existing block icon is deleted in the plant picture and the block icon of the template picture is inserted in the original position in the plant picture. In this way changes to block icons in the picture template are transferred to the plant picture. On the other hand, manual changes to the block icon in the plant picture are overwritten by the block icon in the template picture. Any solution ?

Gedas Bronze Member Joined: 6/27/2008 Last visit: 7/6/2021 Posts: 43 Rating: (4)	I just change a block icon number from 1(default) to 3(my own icon created by copying default icon, editing it and saving in @PCS7Typicals1.Pdl). After "create/update block icons" or "os compile" all changed icons are arranged on top. They should stay in original positions.
