Problem with HW-Update

Blukrr Posts: 25 Rating: (0)	Hey guys, I have a project here that was provided with a machine that was bought a couple of years ago, no one usually had go online and modify anything and it was left how it was until now. We need to modify the program as part of a diversity increase in our process and it seems that the project was created using an older version of Step 7 (probably 5.4) and now we have Step 7 5.5 in our machines. This machine is based in a MP277 HMI using WinAC as the PLC and the HMI it self. For some reason when I try to open the project (after I have updated the hardware catalog) it says that the HW-Update is an "older version or not fully installed" and you can see in the anexed picture. I have thoroughly followed the procedure to update it (downloaded and then installed the download files). I tried updating it several times and it didn't work. I starting to think that I'll have to install Step 7 5.4 to be able to open it. At first I had a problem with WinCC flexible now I have installed all of the requires programs and updated the product catalog and it still won't open. Thanks in advance for any help given. Blukrr Posts: 25 Rating: (0)	Actually you made a good point, but the reason I know it's not the program is that we have a Siemens PG and all the programs (Step 7 5.x and WinCC Flexible) are installed and it's running ok. I might check the real version of the programs running in this PG so I can compare to what I got here. But this PG it's not avaliable for us engineers it's stricltly for the maintenance crew and even though I can use it once in a while, for develepment and modifications that don't involve maintenance I will have to jeaopardize the avaliability of this machine in case of a problem, and you might know well that if this PG stops working they will probably say I did something to it. And It's not cool to mess with a U$ 10,000 equipment.

Just ask the maintenance people to do an "Help" -> "Info" -> "Installed Software" and you can easily check what software is missing on your PC. Also confirm that you do the HW-Update via Internet succsessfully.
