Hello Ammy; Just to make things clear at the start, Profinet is a protocol that uses Ethernet TCP/IP as a physical layer. So does Ethernet/IP, What you need is some form of protocol converter, in this case a Profinet I/O to Ethernet/IP gateway. Anybus offers one: http://www.hms.se/products/products.asp?PID=301&ProdType=Anybus%20X-gateway Others can be located on the Internet. Depending on the Ethernet protocol supported by your ABB PLC, you may have to search fora protocol converter that will translate between the 2 processors. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hi Daniel Chartier, Thanks for answer, But can you tell me Can I do the communication Like, 4 PLC is alread yexchanging the data on Profinet port. & one of the third party is wanto communicate & he offering a Gateway(Redlion- www.redlion.net) which on ethernet. so Can we add this newethernet device& able to work on exiting network as ethernet device. & I got the Anybus information but my problem is they don't want to used anybus gateway because of the past project issue. can you please tell me it will work. |
