Hello Experts, please I have some questions, 1) is it possible to log data from plc (S7 1200/1500) to a remote ethernet hard disk ? 2) is it possible to log data from HMI (comfort panel) to an ethernet hard disk ? 3) during the access to data log file in the storage location (remote or local) for reading, will the logging stop ? 4) can I store the data log in a remote pc with windows server 2012 R2 ? thank you for your time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

1) is it possible to log data from plc (S7 1200/1500) to a remote ethernet hard disk ? I am assuming remote ethernet hard disk means some computer will be there. User has different options to achieve the same A) By using industrial data bridge https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/us/en/view/109483465 B) By using TCP communication : User has to develop tool to read data from PLC over TCP C) By using OPC Communication: User has to develop OPC client tool to read data from PLC over OPC Connectivity D) By using Web page: User can do the data logging in PLC and which can be access remotely to download logged file. 2) is it possible to log data from HMI (comfort panel) to an ethernet hard disk ? Yes , it can be possible by giving remote network path for logging. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/13336639 3) during the access to data log file in the storage location (remote or local) for reading, will the logging stop ? While data logging the file is always read access only. If you need to open and edit something then better close data logging then do it. 4) can I store the data log in a remote pc with windows server 2012 R2 ? IDB is better option |
