Reading a DP Slave (belonging to a CP342-5) diagnostic status

@LAD Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Hi everybody I've to read the status (connected/not connected) of 3 DP slaves belonging to a CP342-5 via SFC51, normally when i do it for any slave belonging to an integrated DP masterI use SSL692, should I keep to use the same SSL or I've to use SSL4692 or some other one? My CPU is 317 PN-DP. tks in advance guys

@LAD Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Thanks Darius you've confirmed what I supposed reading the manuals, nevertheless I'm still concerned about the S7 300 CPU supports the SSL4692 or not, because reading the literature for SSL in S7300 enviroment I was not able to find out any quotation of SSL4692, right now, due to HW absence,I have no chance to make any test about, if you have any further information let me know it. have a nice day @LAD

So but if you read carefully 0692 you can see that if ID=0 then we speak about paster system and if ID is other then we can refer to another subsystem which can be connected to external CP. Hard to say. I've always use SSL292 and never had problem. Therefore I've never used it on a CP, it was allways integrated interface.

Darius Platinum Member Joined: 9/28/2005 Last visit: 5/2/2023 Posts: 2957 Rating: (242)	I've just checked S7-400 manual. There is also nothing about SSL 4692, so I suppose if CPU supports 0692 so it should support 4692. But that just my thoughts. Never tested, but I'm nearly sure it will work.

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 6/5/2023 Posts: 2966 Rating: (1025)	Hello @LAD the CP342-5 is a bit of a "special" external DP master interface and even though I've never tried using SFC51 on it to read the status of itsDP Slaves, I wouldn't be suprised if it doesn't work (please try though by any means and let us know the result). In caseyou can't make it to work, I suggestyou grab FC3 "DP_DIAG" from the "SIMATIC_NET_CP/CP 300" library and use it instead and below is also a link with more on it (it's pretty simple to use though and should give you all the info you are after): CP 342-5 -- How do you recognize the failure of a DP slave operating on CP342-5? @LAD Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Hy everybody finally I had the possibility to test the diagnostic of DP slaves belonging a CP342-5 via SFC51 with SSL4692 and unfortunately it does non work at all , the only way to do it is via FC3 DP_Diag from CP NET library. tks a lot to all the people interested to @LAD
