REASSEMBLE OF INCREMENTAL ENCODER

DHINAKARAN Experienced Member Joined: 10/25/2011 Last visit: 1/15/2025 Posts: 41 Rating: (0)	Hi Experts, I removed the Incremental encoder from the servo motor 1FT6105-1AC71-1AG1 due to bearing changing. After reassemble of the servo motor with encoder, the motor rotates continuously and also hunting.. Please advice if there any misalignment of encoder and the rotor shaft.Guide me to align the encoder position with rotor position. The servo motor is intergrated with 840D powerline CNC. I saw the procedure of assemble of Abs. encoder in servo motor.

Ekalavya Posts: 2964 Rating: (484)	Hello, May be current is drawing is more that why it is hunting? Have you checked the Smooth current actual value in the Service screen. Do you get any alarm in the screen ??? You need a portable drilling machine, three 1000ohm resistors and a dual channel oscilloscope. Remove the motor mechanically from the machine. Leave the encoder connected to the drive reg card. Disconnect the three phase power connection to the servo motor at the LT Module. Mechanically connect a portable drill to the servo motor shaft to allow you to rotate it. Solder three 1000 ohm resistors in a star config. Connect the three free ends of the resistor to the u, v and w connections of the motor connector you disconnected from the lt module.. Connect an oscilloscope to the U phase connection and the star connection of the resistors. Connect an oscillsocope to the reference pulse from the encoder, please see the motor_connectors.pdf attachment. Rotate the motor shaft using the portable drilling machine and adjust the encoder position until you have a display which looks like the one on fig 110.1 of the waveform.pdf. All the Best Mr_Al. My problem is the same as listed above but my servo drive is starting and going instantly to its highest RPM as soon as i switch on the servo drive 3phase supply but start command not yet given. Encoder is already misaligned with the motor shaft while maintanence of the motor for bearing and the present configured parameter of the drive says that it has been used for speed control. So to align the encoder with the motor shaft the procedure is same for all 3phase AC (all brands like siemens, pro-motion etc) servo motors or different, if different please elaborate. The type of encoder is incremental. Make: TAMAGAWA. Drive Make: Pro-motion S18 Please help me.....
