Reinitialize the DB during download

Hello,

I want help redarding the Reinitialize DB.

I have to enter the value from HMI and store these value in the DB ( e.g DB100). But problem is that while reinitialize the DB during download it will reset all value to zero. But I don't want to reset these value to zero. I want these all value to be retentive in all condition ( Reinitialize, Program Download, Power restart of CPU ).

I am using CPU1515-2PN.

I have struggled with the same problem, the Siemens TIA programmers really made a mess of the TIA Datablock handling... I guess they never programmed a PLC their selfs.....

In V14 there are some additional functions to make it usuable, although it is far form logical.

1. You can mark the variables in your DB as SETPOINTS (checkbox). Now after a download the SETPOINTS keep their values

2. You can use snapshots and copy the values from the snapshot as start values, so the actual HMI values are copied as initial values in your project. Manuals are far from clear on this point but if you play a little with it you will figure it out,
