remove all messages generated from drive block

montex Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	hi, i am using PCS 7 version 7.0 and using drive block. This block is generating many alarms and messages like Drive error no xxxx etc.. and so on. i want to remove all messages generated by this block. One option i found was to delete messages from "Process object view" in message tab to delete all messages. but still i find message configuration in the property of block in the "Plant view". So please help me to remove all messages generated from the block. Do needful. Splitted from multiple process area screen to be operated from single monitor..

Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (279)	Hi montex, There is no permanent way (except customizing the driver block itself)of removing/deleting these messages. A better approach (in my opinion) would be to investigate the reason behind these messages. May be introducing a time delay may help. Regards

Once you delete the messages (select no message from drop down list) at the driver block properties it won't generate the message after compile also. Attachment Block Msgs.JPG (117 Downloads)

This change in the block means you are customizing the standard blocks (Channel Drivers mostly). You have to "maintain" these blocks yourself. Moreover these changes will get undone if you re-import the block from the library or from a new version of the library.

Hi montex, I think PCS7 is not the right solution for you. Native WinCC + Step 7 would be better...

Why would you want to remove messages from the drive blocks and systems? Normally these are messages which you need for commissioining and proper maintenance. If the matter is just about too many messages, you can always use filters to hide them and see them only what you want. Krish
