Replace the s7 400

titan84 Posts: 48 Rating: (0)	Dir sir(madam), My old system used the S7 400 PLC (6ES7414-3XJ00-0AB0). Now, i want to replace by new PLC (6ES7414-3XM05-0AB0). I check technical on CAx and have few questions. - Input current: from backplane bus 5 V DC, typ: new plc is 1.1A< old plc is 1.5A - Nesting depth: additional within an error OB: new plc is 1 < old plc is 2. - Global Data Communication: Size of GD packets, max of new CPU is 54 byte < old plc is 64 byte. I don't understand this parameter. Please explain for me! and i can replace old plc?

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 11/12/2024 Posts: 12293 Rating: (2691)	Hello titan; Here are some basic answers to your questions: - Input current: from backplane bus 5 V DC, typ: new plc is 1.1A< old plc is 1.5A The CPU and PLC modules recieve their power (24 V DC for external connections, 5 V for electronics) provided by the power supply over the backplane of the rack. It would seem the newer CPU is more efficient and requires less power than its predecessor over the 5V bus in I the rack backplane. - Nesting depth: additional within an error OB: new plc is 1 < old plc is 2. The following FAQ shows trhe definition of “nesting depth”, which refers to the number of blocks calling blocks inside your OB. Programming nested blocks Just check the program of the error OBs (OB 8x, OB 12x) to make sure you do not have nested blocks, or else your new CPU will go to STOP mode.
