Replacing siemens servo motor

Shahjee Posts: 111 Rating: (1)	I am replacing siemens servo motor 1FK70423BK711RA0 WITH SIEMENS servo motor 1FK70423BK711RB0 the only reason to change this servo motor is to add brakes to remove the coast of motor as when somebody break the light curtain motor stop right away. I was just concerned do we have to do any programming changes as well by replacement of motor or it will work right away on the same parameters as of previous one and on the same encoder values as of the previous one or we have to re program encoder. Can anybody help. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Split from upgrade an old servo motor.

Technology Team Platinum Expert Joined: 10/11/2006 Last visit: 11/18/2024 Posts: 5941 Rating: (816)	Hello, the encoder is the same, so you need only to parametrize the brake control: e. g. p1215 = 1 (Motor holding brake acc. to sequence control) Regarding HW connection you have to check that the power cable contains the 2 brake wires (in case of Motion Connect cable the black/white brake wires).

Shahjee Posts: 111 Rating: (1)	Thanks for replying but how can I do P1215=1 as I don't have any drive and no operator panel through which I can change this parameter, is there any other way I can change this as I am using CU305 module with this and for the cable I am using this cable Part # SP6FX50025DG011BF0.

I basically need a help in Electrical connections of brake as I am just upgrading motor from without brakes to brake. Can anybody help.
