You have no way to manipulate the online route search engine other than mode table design, priority and VIA/variant; unless there is something I have been missing in RC for many years of use. It will always build a route with whatever is available, using the route with lowest priority sum if more than one route option exists. Otherwise if no route from Source > (Via) > Dest is available, route allocation will fail.
If the (partial) route should never be used, they you should make sure that the partial (or complete) route is not part of the mode table(s) which will be used. If you need to have it as an option, but never want to use it except for maybe certain maintenance situations, then you need to use one or more VIAs which will override the priority setting and be able to exclude that route from being selected by the online search since the VIA will not be part of that partial route.
