S5 CPU 135 WB communication troubles

marchano Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi there, I have a lot of problems to establish a link between my laptop and a cnc-machine. When I try to go online I get this error: AS interface in PG not ready Laptop: P4/W2000 PLC CPU: 135WB Simatic S5 STEP 5/ST Version 7.23 basic package+ SP2 + Hotfix 1 I tried a standard 9 to 25 serial connection cable and I tried it with a TTY converter. I tried it on several machines with the same control, no result. When I use my PG740 with a older version of S5: no problems. Any tips?

Simaticus Bronze Member Joined: 1/30/2007 Last visit: 6/3/2022 Posts: 262 Rating: (24)	Hello Marchano, You won't get online using the Siemens rs232-tty-converter to a cpu135w because this converter needs a 5V supply provided by the pg-interface of the cpu, and this is not supported by the cpu135w. so there's only a solution to choose an active rs232-tty-converter (for example Köster in Iserlohn/Germany or www.wut.de) or to try a Siemens-PG. A rs232-tty-converter based on usb won't work anyway. Last possible solution is a usb-tty-converter of CD-electronic. I have heard that this has been tested by the simatic customer support. Simaticus Bronze Member Joined: 1/30/2007 Last visit: 6/3/2022 Posts: 262 Rating: (24)	Hello Marchano, as i don't know this converter i can't positively prove. for example i add a link to a cable used for PG720/740/Field-PG http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/217863 pinning in the connector on the cpu is like this (F15 on cpu): 6 (+TxD) 7 (-TxD) 9 (+RxD) 2 (-RxD) 8,15 (gnd) you need to adapt according the pinning of your converter. Note: Please note that your converter needs to be the active part in the current loops, that means the supply for 20 mA loops has to be connected at your box. Sincerely PS: if you could show the pinning of your box we might find out a working cable.

marchano Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	So I've got the next system: Control: Sinumerik 840T with: Interface CPU 6FX1123-3CA00 PLC CPU 135WB 6FX1138-6BL01 Laptop P4 W2000 with Step5 V7.23 Horter&Kalb V24-TTY converter - active (www.horter.de) connector layout: (25p sub D) pin 18 - TXD+ pin 19 - TXD- pin 20 - RXD+ pin21 - RXD- Is this sufficient to establish a connection?

According to the circuit diagram of horter you can wire like this: Converter (M25) S5-cpu (M15) S5-AS511 (F25) ------------ --------------- ------------------ pin 8 (20mA) -------------------- pin 6 (TxD+) ----------- pin 18 (TXD+) pin21 (T+ ?) -------------------- pin 7 (TXD-) ----------- pin 19 (TXD-) pin22 (R- ?) -------------------- pin 9 (RXD+) ---------- pin 20 (RXD+) pin10 (gnd) -------------------- pin 2 (RXD-) ----------- pin21 (RXD-) Please attend that you need a direct RS232 in your notebook, not a usb-device!!! sincerely
