Hi ! Check the following ---- 1. Backup battery - It seems to be empty. 2. Improper earthing - check if earthing is proper. Is the power supply and the rack properly earthed. 3. The rear side connector of the power supply is not sitting properly or there is loose contact. (The front side fixing screws may be loose and/or strong vibration due to which the PS has loose connection) There a 2 connectors. one for the power which has thicker contacts and another will be sub-D plug. Check if both the connectors are properly seated. If required remove the PS, clean the power contacts and reinsert the PS. Don't push the PS too hard . It should normally slide into the connector. 4. Front side power connections - check for loose contacts. Normally you will fail to detect loose contacts on the front side connector because the PS has capacitors which buffer the 5.11 V supply to the CPU for some time. 5. Welding equipments in the vicinity probably using the ground line to which the rack is connected. 6. Last but not the least, clean the PS of dirt with a blower or 100% dry compressed air, There could be some conductive dust on the PS. Worst case change the PS and see if the same happens again. I think the system is located in India. So another important subject - Power supply dips - One of the common cause (in Indian context). If problem persists then consider the option of providing a small UPS to get rid of problems arising due to Power supply variations. |
