Hello FM_Merse; O_Einstein is right, confirming your suspicion would be easier if you had access to the PLC's diagnostic buffer. It could be a faulty memory card, but it could also be a problem due to many other causes.. Does your client have a copy of Step 7, of the same version the S7-1515F was programmed in?
