Hello gabi; The programming software for the S7-200 series is Step 7 Microwin, and no, it is not com patible with Step 7 (for the S7-300/400 series only). Good news is that Siemens offers a dowloadable test version of Microwin 4.0 weith full functionnality. It will work for 60 days or 100 openings, so it should give you time to upload and study yopur program. And Microwin is a lot cheaper than Step 7, if you need to buy it afterwards. Here is the link to the Microwin 4.0 download: https://www.automation.siemens.com/_en/s7-200/support/tools_downloads/microwin.html?HTTPS=REDIR Here you will download the Sysytem manual for the S7-200, most informative: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1109582 Please note thatthe S7-300 programming cable (PC Adapter) will not work with the S7-200; you will need to buy a PC-PPI cable from Siemens, or use a standard RS-232 to RS-485 converter to connect to the S7-200 programming port; you can also use one of the interfaces proposed on the Microwin download page. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello gabi, Please have a look at following faq: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/24781781 So when you have USB-PC-adapter it's possible to connect to S7-200 using Microwin Best regards, Wizard |
