S7 315 redundancy with IM 153-2 via redundant optical ring connection

Hi, You need the redundancy-bundle, existing off 2 x 6ES7153-2BA01-0XB0 and the Busmodule 6ES7195-7HD10-0XA0. This is the redundancy bundle 6ES7153-2AR02-0XA0, (the newest is 6ES7-153-2AR03-0XA0). This is on a active backplain 6ES7195-1GA00-0XA0 [-1GF30/-1GG30/1GC00]. With the newest redundancy bundle you might use 12 modules behind the IM's 153-2AB02. Hi, I'm new in this forum.I have a project with 2 redundant Cpu 315-2dp with 2 OLM/G12 and 5extensions with ET 200M. On each extension I have 2 IM 153-2 FO(6ES7 153-2AB02-0XB0 redundant). Actually, I want to have redundant optical rings connection. The CPU will connect to OLM and link up all IM153 FO via FOC ; my question is that IM153-2 FO support redundant rings. PeteB Posts: 16 Rating: (2)	Jack, I've not looked at your .zip file but you have a few problems with your App. Firstly you have IM153-2 FO's which are "plactic" FO and you have "glass" FO OLM's. Secondly the IM153-2 FO's don't support redundancy. Thirdly even if you had the "plastic" OLM's they have a BFOC (or ST) connector where as the IM153-2 FO's have a "simplex" connector (the media technology is also different 50m max for IM153-2 FO and 80m max for OLM's). If you need redundancy on the Profibus network you need to use OLM's and its best to have an OLM for ET200M drop for max benefit. Therefore best solution is IM153-2 with electrical iunterface and a OLM/G11 or OLM/P11 for each drop. If you want to use the IM153-2 FO's then you can't have a redundant Profibus link. Does that help?

Late Platinum Expert Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 11/17/2023 Posts: 2705 Rating: (318)	Hi Jack, I agree with PeteB only OLM's could be used in a ring, this because the OLM have a special chip inside that could do the numbering of the telegrams with 12 MBit/s and check if that telegram was already on the other communication partner. For a OLM to a OBT you can make a cable with the two different connectors...

Hi, Right now, I going to use OLM/G12-1300 long distance up to 15km with glass fibre. I not sure whether it support SMF( Single-mode fibre ) or support both type fibre MMF( Multimode fibre )& SMF. PeteB Posts: 16 Rating: (2)	Jack, The OLM/G12-1300 supports 50/125µm or 62.5/125µm(multimode) FO cable upto 10kmor 10/125µm (single mode) FO cable for upto 15km.
