Hello Ziemens; With a S7-300 CPU, you could transform the S5 IO modules into an ET 200U station, if you can get hold of an IM 308-B or (preferably) a IM 308-C. Have a look at this discussion where you will also find a link to a ET 200U manual. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/us/en/view/217419 S5 CPUs and IOs have been discontinued for quite some time now and Siemens no longer offers spare parts. You would need to look on E-Bay or reseller sites for your IM 308 modules if you need to purchase them. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello Ziemens; Here is another way you can reuse S5 IO modules with a S7-300 CPU: S5 IO adapters from Siemens or Phoenix Contacts: https://www.phoenixcontact.com/assets/downloads_ed/local_be/web_dwl_promotion/S5_S7_E_01_08_07.pdf With these adapter modules you would need to have in your S7-300 rack equivalent modules to those in your S5 system, for example a S7 16DI 24 VDC to connect to your S5 16DI 24VDC module. You would then use the adapter module for 16 DI to replace the front connectors of the S5 and S7 modules. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

You could have a look at this solution from VIPA Kind regards, BV AttachmentHB37E_IM_306-1LE00_09-28.pdf (402 Downloads) |
