Serious problems transfering projects to panels

karkas Posts: 54 Rating: (0)	Hello everybody, I am using panles OP77B & TP177B with PLCs 312C, I have 3 PLCs, I already made the network of controllers work using MPI, the cables are working perfectly. But there are some serious problems transferringg the projects of WinCC to the panels, I even have an user's manual for WinCC and all the settings in the panels are correct, I mean MPI adresses, bus speed, the channels is set to MPI, the remote control is enabled but it doesn't work. The first time I tried to transfer a project it worked and asked me to update the OS of the panels, I did it without any problem, after that I transferred test projects and they worked, but after that I could only transfer ONE 1 project, every setting in the WinCC and in the panels is OK, I mean, they transferred, but practically "when they wanted to", I already brought to the lab a person who have worked with them with a solution partner and didn't know what happened, then I took them with my PROFIBUS cables and a CPU to the office of the other solution partner who sold them to my university and they could make the transfer but just sometimes, I mean, the remote control doesn't work, I transfers just some times if the panel is set to "transfer", even if the remote control is enabled. The programmer in the office only said that that situation was really weird, that he never seen something like that, every setting was correct, then he came up with integrating the WinCC project to the STEP7 project, that way he could always make the transfer, but once I was in my lab I could only made the transfer a few times, even integrating the WinCC project, I really don't know what to do. I downloaded projects and the I/O filed turn into numerals, I know that's because there's is no comunication, but just inmediately I transfer thge project and it does it, is extremely confusing. The only consistent error I get is something about the S7RTM, in the properties in the "configuration" tab, check the box "S7RTM is installed", but There's is no such tab in my panel properties in the NetPro. Sometimes it transfers, sometimes it doesn't, and always with the same seetings. Thanks in advance.

karkas Posts: 54 Rating: (0)	Yes, the resistors are correct, I am using the PC adapter from the CPU to the PC. Yesterday a made transfers but the remote control is not working.

karkas Posts: 54 Rating: (0)	That documente says that you can use MPI to transfer to TP177B and OP77B, I am not connecting it directly from the panel to the computer, if I were, the adapter wouldn't even recieve the 24 V it needs to work. Let me say it again, I am programming it through an MPI network, The problem is: Sometimes they appear in the "available stations" window in the STEP 7 and sometimes they don't, randomly, even with the same settings and with the same projects. Three days ago I could transfer projects without any problem, and yesterday I couldn't. the only reasonable thing I can think about is that they are defective. Thanks again Tweety.

Tweety Posts: 3037 Rating: (190)	Hello, You can download your Step 7 project about a PC/MPI adapter. You can download your WinCC flexible project about MPI to OP77B or TP177B. You can not download your WinCC flexible project about a PC/MPI adapter. The MPI download about PC/MPI adapteris not tested and not approved for panels OP77B and TP177B. You must use the MPI download without this PC/MPI adapter. See in the manual, page 54. SIMATIC HMI WinCC flexible 2008 Communication Part 1 You can see this notice on the page 54. Notice The PC adapter is not approved for MPI transfer.

I am creating a network tih my PROFIBUS/MPI cable, and already made sure the terminal resistors are OK and everything, the network with PLCs already worked perfectly, but when I introduce the panels in the network, sometimes they appear in my "accesible stations" in STEP 7 and sometimes they don't, it's more common the situation in which they don't appear. - So you're telling me that this way of transfer, using the PC/MPI adapter that I always use for PC-PLC transfer for the transfer to the panels in a network is not tested and not exactly supposed to work? - I already checked the page you told me in the manual, it's actually page 52, but how can you use MPI transfer without PC/MPI adapter? - Is that the reason why they don't appear in my accessible stations almost every time? - Would you recommend better a direct serial transfer from PC to panels (Without any network)? What happens with this is that we don't have that adapter.

How can you transfer a WinCC flexible project serially to a panel? You need for serial transfer to OP77B a RS 232 cable. What is the serial cable assignment for transferring the configuration to a Windows-based device? You need for serial transfer to TP177B a RS 232 Multimastercable. What transfer options are available in the various operator panels? Tweety
