signal exchange between S7 CPU's (CEMAT V6.0) and S5 CPU's (CEMAT V3.0)

Hi everyone,

Can anyone send me a procedure for connecting Cemat V3 to Cemat V6.0. We have a project that migrates a V3 to V6. there are 7 S5 CPU's and we only migrated 2 of them and we still need to establish a connection between the others.

So if I understand you right, you need to establish signal exchange between the S7 CPU's (CEMAT V6.0) and S5 CPU's (CEMAT V3.0)? Is that it?

Ok.

There are many ways ofestablishing the communication but the best way I would recommend is Industrial Ethernet. Since the S5 side would be on Ethernet (with CP143), you should insert an S5 Station in your S7 project . . .

So the question is, what interfaces are available?

well, than it is obvious. You may use the ISO Transport Protocol in this case.

Here you have two services to choose:

1. Send / Receive, here both Systems may transfer the Data from one PLC to the other. Both systems are fully able to handle this communication.

2. Fetch / Write, here the S5 may read ore write Data from / to the S7. The S7 is only able to be Server in this case.

Personally I would recommend using Send / Receive. It eases the communication and allows bi-directional communication.
