Let me explain my issue: We have an old system in which we use Moby E devices (Read/write unit is SLG 72 Moby E6GT2301-0CA00, and MDS orRFID tag units are MDS E611 Moby E 6GT2300-0BB00); at this moment we are missing some MDS E611 Moby E units, so we have to buy some; the problem is that it will be very difficult to find them since they are discontinued at this time. So having said that we check the equivalent for part replacement and we found that we can use RF360T 6GT2800-4AC00 as replacemen for the MDS E611 Moby E 6GT2300-0BB00. So far every thing looks good but i will like to know, if RF360T 6GT2800-4AC00 will work with the old Read/Write unit SLG 72 Moby E6GT2301-0CA00, or should we upgrade the read/write units as well? Any advices or comments you can share about this will be very helpfull and much appreciated. Thanks a lot and have a very nice day. Regards.

Would you please confirm if this suggestion is based on your oun experience? I will like to give it a try but, based on the following text published in the Announcement of phase-out of MOBY E: "Please note that mixed operation of MOBY E components with RF300 components (e.g. MOBY E SLG - RF300 tag) is not possible." I'm not sure yet . I will apreciatte any further details you can share about this, once again, thanks a lot. Regards.

The MOBY E SLGs are ISO-reader and the RF360T isn't an ISO-transponder. You have two options: 1: Replace your reader and transponders with the RF300 series 2: You can still buy MDS E611 as spare part. Have a lookat the Siemens Mall, klick this one, or just ask your Siemens distribution manager to buy spare parts. Hope this helps.

TEBANCH Silver Member Joined: 3/25/2008 Last visit: 1/28/2022 Posts: 232 Rating: (20)	Hello dear colleagues, Since it will not be possible to combine moby E readers with RF300 Tags, i have decided to upgrade the RFID system, at this time i have old ET200X modules in which i have ASM473 interfaces to link them to my SLG 72 antennas, i'm planning to replace the old ET200X by ET200Pro, ASM473 by ASM170C, SLG72 by RF380R, and Moby E 611 tags by RF670 T tags. The actual systems uses Moby FC45 (V2.3), which is called inside FB72 (OEM's block); the Moby E discontinuation anouncement, states that: *Existing MOBY E software applications (with FC45/FB45) can still be used.* I will like to know in your experience: 1. Which points should i pay special attention when performing this change? 2. Do you have some advices you can share about this? 3. Is this migration"transparent"? or it will be better to rebuild the whole RFID logic? I will really apreciatte your help and your advices, have a great weekend. Regards.

You can still use your FC45, so you don't have to make a new RFID logic. If you have further concrete questions don't hesitate to ask. Greetings!
