Is it possible to use  SIMATIC S5 101U 6SE5 101-8UA12 PLC with ordinary PC and PG-2000 software like SIMATIC S5-100U 6SP 100-8AM02 here:

If so, how should this connection be established?

Hello mica,

Yes you can use the same Software as for CPU100. You can connect via Serial port V24 (current-Interface 20mA). It's quite a while we used this PLC-controller.

I have notebook with only USB ports, I suppose it is necessary to use some kind of USB to serial port V24 adapter, if there is a such?

IBH Softech develops an alternative software to Step 5 named S5 for Windows, and also offers connection cables for S5 CPUs.
