SINAMICS G120 in PCS 7?

Good day experts!

This thread has been very helpful. I just have a question, does this library that contains the block for Sinamics G120 necessary for just an option for a better data communication?

Could I still be able to communicate with Sinamics just using the GSD file and manually mapping the signals? If so, could you link manuals (esp. the signal exchange list)? 

I'll be working with an old PCS7 v6.1 and the library is probably not there.

I'm not a PCS7 User, but if you don't want to use this library, you could communicate with the G120 like a normal Step7 CPU communicates:

If you want to know the differences between the different telegrams and how the telegrams are build up in detail, have a look into the List Manual of your inverter.

I will give you an example here for G120 with CU240B/E-2: Link

You will find the relevant information in chapter 2.6. The interesting part starts at page 2-551.

P.S.: Both, the FbDrive and the library Drive ES PCS7, supports the driver wizard of PCS7.

 I see. That's quite some read hehe. I'm yet to check the specific device, but I also found a very simple instruction without using additionally purchased libraries, which uses "Standard Telegram 1" which seems just 4 words:

I hope I could use this to the actual device hehe. But still there seems to be no specific description of what exactly are those 4 words?

That could really be helpful, but unfortunately we'll be using Profibus DP (it will be added to the last node of the CPU400 Master DP CP). I haven't checked it thoroughly though, maybe there's also things that could help me.

 Profinet or Profibus shouldn't care. The procedure to configure the G120 should be the same except HW-Config. There you have to choose DP connection and not PN, and that's it.

With standard telegram 1 you have two words in each direction:

From PLC to Inverter:

Word 1 ist control word, Word 2 is setpoint speed/frequency

From inverter to PLC:

Word 1 is status word, word 2 is actual speed/frequency

If you want to know what each single bit in the control and status word is, look at pdf-page 553 for control word and pdf-page 557 for status word in the document from my link. In the document from your link it is mentioned that they work with control/status word by NAMUR, so the description I gave here should be valid for all types of inverters.
