Sinamics S120 compact flash card virsion upgradation

soham Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello, Presently we have compact flash card with firmware virsion V2.4, but in our system we want to use some free function blocks. can we configure free function blocks with the same version or do we need to upgrade it to V2.5 ?. If we need to upgrade then what is the procedure for version upgradation & how will I get the firmware version V2.5. Can I download it from internet, if yes, could you please sent me the link for the same. kindly treat this case as urgent as I am on site for commissioning.

Dave Posts: 271 Rating: (27)	Hello Soham, I'm not familiar with the use of Free Blocks or DCC; however, here is a link to V2.5 software: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/26358759 The link provides information on how to do the upgrade, etc. Hope this helps...

S120 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello Soham, In FW2.4 you have also free blocks, but you need to first activate them. Do it on Starter, go to project tree, right-click on the drive and them from the "Function modules" sheet activate "Free function blocks". After the activation download to drive. New parameters start from p20000. Manual called "Function Manual Free Blocks, 03.2006 Edition" describes the functionality of the free blocks. This must be done offline. br.Jude
