Single Modbus Server with 2 Slaves (Clients)

master_blaster Posts: 39 Rating: (0)	I want to use a single modbus master (IM151-8F PN/DP) with 2 clients (Raspberry PI, and a Laptop). I have read here that (Which ports are released for Modbus/TCP communication and how many Modbus clients can communicate with a SIMATIC S7 PN-CPU as Modbus server) it may be possible using 2 different port numbers. I have tried calling MODBUSPN with different MODBUS_PARAM (each having a different port), but it does not seem to work. I can only make a connection once, and the other connection fails Attachment modbus.png (331 Downloads)

In case of your CPU functionality as Server (Slave), it is with passive connection establishment so you need set this in settings. All your Masters (Clients) need active establishment of connection and each can connect to different Port number. In this case your server can prepare 2 independed connections, each with different Port number. In case you have this settings ok and you have all time BUSY signal, Clients probably aren't initiate connection establishing, this you need check on that 2 devices.
