SINUMERIK PCU 50 WILL NOT BOOT UP. PLZ HELP!!!

Luca451 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi guys i've been having a problem with my Siemens Sinumerik PCU 50, it just does not want to boot up into the system. It was working fine then all of a sudden the screen showed a few red lines then it shut off. I went to boot it up and it would not go past the the bios screen. I can get into the bios by pressing F2. It simply will not load/boot up into the operating system. I did notice that on the back of the control box towards the bottom right there are 4 LED's that light up. When i switch the power on the first led lights up Red for a split sec thens goes away, the second led does nothing, the third one lights up green and stays solid the whole time and the fourth one flashes orange for the entire time. To me it seems like they could be diagnostic LED's, but i cant seem to find any information about those LED's. BTW what is this "extended RAM"? Ekalavya Posts: 2964 Rating: (484)	Hi.... The LEDS what your talking about is on MCP its look to be fine...ON your MCP no lights are flashing....it seems to be OK... Could you try to connect the externalKeyboard and check? try press F2 from the Keyboard.. Check whether your HDD hardisk is plugged insidethe PCU50 properly.... Extended RAM is the RAM of your PCU50 which has capacity of 256MB Could you try to disconnect thesameinPCU50and check. I think it should work.....check it out and revert back.... Regards, Ekalavya

I'd take it out pluf it into another computer and run a surface scan as the system doesn't even get as far as offering a boot to safe mode. Hope I'm wrong ! Pee
