Software Redundancy DB Problem

Hike Posts: 138 Rating: (0)	Dear guyz, I m using 2 315-2DP working as redundant systems. The problem i m getting is really weird. The program is working fine as long as DB_LEN =1. If i wish to share more than i DB >1 then the CPU goes into stop mode and diagnostic error is of "Area length writing error" Some thing like that i dun remember exact one. What could be the problem. Hello Hike Iwonder if you "forgot" to delete DB1, 2 & 3 (DB_WORK_NO, DB_SEND_NO and DB_RCV_NO) online in the PLC when you changed FC100 (SWR_START) parameters (this would explain the problem that you are having). Have a look at chapter 5.8 of THIS manual for more info on this matter. The other thing tolook out for is thatthe new DB's must obviously not only exist in the PLC but also be contiguosly allocacted as ofthe "DB_NO" value of FC100. I hope this helps

Hike Posts: 138 Rating: (0)	Thanks fritz for the valuable information. I dindn't know it earlier. However as far as i remember in frustration i put PLC online and deleted all of it's data and then downloaded again but still same problem. I don't have system now in my office. I will have to visit my site to check for this problem. However i have alloted consistant DB addresses and they are available in program. If any one think he has more to share, kindly share it so that i can apply all of them at once.

Just 2 little things, 1-Make surethat the length of each data blockis more than 2 words (Check this FAQ). 2- Hike If i wish to share more than i DB >1 then the CPU goes into stop mode What I'm going to say is not related to the problem but I recommend to download OB121 and all error OBs as well to avoid the STOP mode in future.
