SOLVED: Get from 315 2DP to 314 not working over Ethernet

TheMisfit Posts: 55 Rating: (1)	Trying to connect a 314 CPU witch a 315 2-DP CPU over Ethernet (using CP 343 Lean). Project attached would like to use a one way GET (FB14) to collect 6 bytes of data from DB20. Can't get it working Any ideas? Attachment TestComm.zip (213 Downloads)

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello TheMisfit, I am sorry, I have not checked your project yet but if you have, as I expect it, two CP 343-1 Lean I can already tell you that an S7-Connection may not be configured. The CP 343-1 Lean only supports S7-Communication as Server, but you would need support as Client. S7-Communication would only work with a CP 343-1 EX2X or EX30, you could also use the Advanced versions. If you would like to stay with the CP 343-1 Lean I would recommend the use of the SEND / RECEIVE interface with ISO on TCP Connections. Here you need to use AG_SEND / AG_RECV Functions on both ends of the Connection. Best regards J_Bell

TheMisfit Posts: 55 Rating: (1)	Just to make sure, after replacing one of the CP's 343Lean with a CP 343, can I program a one-way (PUT or GET) connection from both sides. Or can only the CPU that has the CP343 contain the(PUT or GET)code???

About your question I have to admit that only the CPU that has the CP 343-1 Standard or Advanced is able to configure a single sided S7 Connection and may handle the PUT / GET Functions. In this case the CPU with the CP 343-1 Lean may only be S7 Server and is passive. Best regards J_Bell
